Headed to the Cannes and Huesca Film Festivals!

Exciting news!

I had the pleasure and honor of doing the narration for this lovely short film, YOURS SINCERELY, LOIS WEBER, by Metabook Films. Directed by Svetlana Cvetko, it’s about the bold, talented and innovative film maker, Lois Weber and now it’s an Official Selection of both the Cannes Film Festival and the Huesca International Film Festival!

This film is featured as part of the content of Metabook’s app for Wally Lamb’s I’LL TAKE YOU THERE (in which I read the role of Ingrid Bergman and several of the other ensemble characters.)  Check it out: http://www.metabook.com

Interactive Theatre /Diversity Training with DeValk Associates

For the past few years I have been performing with a wonderful company called DeValk Associates.  We perform short dramatizations of workplace situations as catalysts to in depth conversations about micro inequities, diversity awareness and respectful, productive workplace communication.

Steve DeValk, who runs the company, interviews the clients extensively in order to then write unique scripts based on the issues the client needs addressed. Then we rehearse with him and on the day of the program our performances enhance his moderation and presentation.  It’s really been exciting to do this work and I’m so happy to be a part of it all.

Here is a Fortune.com article about one of our performances for the Billie Jean King Leadership Initiative last November:

“Princess Posey and the Next-Door Dog” by Stephanie Greene

Princess Posey and the Next-Door Dog

July 2013…

July 2013… Princess Posey and the Next-Door Dog by Stephanie Greene for Recorded Books, LLC.

Although no one else knows, Posey has been afraid of dogs ever since she was knocked down by a big dog when she was tiny. Whenever Posey feels challenged, she dresses in her
princess outfit featuring a pink tutu. When she hears loud barks coming from the new neighbor’s yard and decides to meet the dog, she dresses appropriately to help overcome her fear. Posey successfully rises to the occasion – with a little support from her clothing.

This early chapter book is practically perfect. The text is understanding of a child’s viewpoint without being patronizing. The print is large with generous white space between the lines and around the pages. The soft pencil illustrations are humorous. This is just one of a fine series of gentle adventures.

‘Parenting Beyond Pink & Blue’ Christia Spears Brown PhD

“Though the author’s message may be controversial to some, the charm and authentic positivity in Stina Nielsen’s performance neutralize this audiobook’s polemical aspects, making it a delight to hear. Her youthful timbre and phrasing are part of the appeal, but she also has a remarkable ear for tone and substance. When the subject matter is grave or cautionary, she can shift into serious mode while staying connected to the optimism that gives her performance and this audio its continuity..”

‘Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging’ Review

"Stina Nielsen is a perfect choice for this narration. She gets 14-year-old Georgia just right, capturing her wry humor and moving easily between the panic, misery, and exultation that make up a teenager's day. Nielsen does a stellar narration using a bubbly cadence that has you laughing and cringing throughout."
